Techcet consults for companies ranging from material makers and suppliers, to equipment OEMs and semiconductor fabricators. Using their 90+ years of combined experience in marketing, sales, engineering and chemistry, they are able to quickly evaluate technology and assess market dynamics.

The four Techcet Group Partners include: John Housley, Lita Shon-Roy, Karey Holland, PhD., and Steve Holland, PhD. Together, they have expertise in virtually every material area of interest to the semiconductor industry. In addition, to these four principles, Techcet Group staffs a number of market analysts whose expertise strengthens our knowledge base in process materials.

As an independent contractor, they are your best source of un-biased information. Techcet Group is not limited to the type and scope of work that they do for their clients. Competitive statistics and market share analysis are typical of the detailed work that is done for their customers.

Techcet Group Managing Partners:

Lita Shon-Roy has worked up and down the Semiconductor Manufacturing “Food Chain” for more than 20 years.  Her work experience spans from marketing and sales of IC’s, equipment, and materials to process engineering of TFTs.    She has helped establish marketing and sales proficiency in companies such as IPEC/Speedfam, Air Products/Schumacher, Brooktree/Rockwell, and Hughes Aircraft.  In 1998, with the encouragement of Rose Associates, Lita co-founded Techcet Group, LLC.

Before becoming a full-time consultant, Lita worked for IPEC, a leader in CMP equipment as Director of International Sales. As an independent consultant, Lita has authored and co-authored various articles and texts focused on the semiconductor processing, industry forecasting, and the world economy.  She is now
a recognized expert in market research and new materials forecast modeling for semiconductor and electronic process materials.   Lita holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, with a specialty in Solid State Physics from USC and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from UCSD.  She has also completed the majority of coursework toward an MBA from SDSU.

Karey Holland, Ph.D. was previously Vice President and Chief Technical Officer at SpeedFam-IPEC, the CMP Equipment Company with the largest installed base. She is regarded as one of the top 5 CMP technologists in the world. Karey worked for IBM from 1981 through 1993. During this time, Karey contributed to the interconnect technology development and manufacturing introduction of 4 Meg and 16 Meg DRAMs. The IBM 4 Meg DRAM was the first chip to use fully planarized interlevel dielectrics and tungsten plug technology.

Karey has co-authored multiple patents and papers on this technology. Subsequently, Karey spent two years at Sematech as Program Manager for the Deep UV lithography Micrascan II project. After leaving IBM, Karey spent 9 months at Motorola in Manufacturing Planning for the Microprocessor and Memory Technology Group. She brings with her 18 years of experience in Semiconductor Technology.

Steve Holland, Ph.D. has worked on Advanced Interconnect technology for 14 years. Steve worked at IBM from 1981 through 1993. During this time, Steve was one of the prime innovators on the first tungsten interconnect technology development used for the 4 Meg DRAMs.

Steve also worked in manufacturing introduction of 1 Meg, CMOS device design, and advanced chip packaging. He managed the first low-k dielectric project at Sematech. Steve has co-authored multiple patents and papers on advanced interconnect technology. More recently, he has been involved in market and product development for consumables, advanced metallurgies, and advanced dielectrics at both AlliedSignal and Arch Chemicals.

John Housley has spent over 36 years in the semiconductor industry. He has served as co-founder and Vice President of KTI Chemicals, Inc. (wholly owned subsidiary of Union Carbide, Inc.) and Vice President of Sales and Marketing for three other semiconductor equipment companies, including Asyst Technologies. He has started and assisted in the management of over forty overseas sales, marketing, manufacturing and distribution operations related to the semiconductor equipment and materials sector.

John is a long time consultant to the semiconductor industry and has produced over 120 market research studies relating to semiconductor equipment and materials. John has also written several workbooks and published articles concerning the sale and marketing of semiconductor equipment and materials and has produced numerous workshops on “How to do Business in Korea”, PRC, Taiwan, Japan and Singapore. In addition, John continues to serve as one of the principle instructors for “Principles of Selling to the Semiconductor Industry” and “Fundamentals of Product Marketing for the Semiconductor Industry,” sponsored by SEMI and presented by The Quest Team.

John is a graduate of The University of North Texas. (BBA, 1970) He currently serves on several boards of directors of corporations, both profit and non-profit. He is a long time member of SEMI and has served as chairman of SMECS (Sales and Marketing Executive Council of SEMI).
